Rauland-Borg

Challenge: Rauland-Borg needed to find a new larger manufacturing facility in the Northwest Chicago suburbs for their 400 employees that currently operate in a facility located in Skokie that is too small and has efficiency limitations due to repeated expansion and growth in a confined building area.

As a modern manufacturer, Rauland-Borg required space or a new site that could be accessed with mass transportation, had the ability to be provided with electrical, gas, and fiber optics reliable public utilities.  Their project objectives included creating large modern open work areas for numerous business functions.

Solution: The team of Paine/Wetzel, Peak Construction, and Heitman Architects worked diligently to analyze multiple properties and sites with respect to finding a solution that provided the greatest value to our client, Rauland-Borg.

The final selection of the space at 1800 W. Central Road in Mount Prospect resulted in the ability to benefit from the modification and enhancement of numerous existing manufacturing and building amenities used by previous tenants in similar manufacturing operations.

The ultimate solution will result in an appropriately placed series of business departments each producing their respective functions in an efficient and modern environment that enables their finished products to be produced and to continue as the benchmark of excellence internationally.
