Holiday Inn Express

Challenge: To design and construct a 3 Story Holiday Inn Express consisting of 48,000SF and 79 new rooms on a compressed schedule with a concrete paved parking lot creating a logistical challenge for major deliveries feeding project progress. Start of the project was delayed due to record breaking rains in Spring ’09 despite full Peru municipal cooperation with permitting and project building officials Approval of plans.

Solution: Peak developed a “Fast Track” schedule and facilitated early procurement of key long lead time project materials and equipment to permit immediate full scale project construction immediately following local municipal approval and weather cooperation.  It was Peak’s forward thinking approach coupled with cohesive planning, execution, project prototype aptitude, and logistic considerations that expedited the progress of construction by 4 weeks in the first 12 weeks of construction alone by implementation of alternate fill materials and careful sequencing of both building and site related activities.  By reducing weather related impacts to construction and expediting site related work Peak created a logistical window in the schedule when the concrete parking could be completed without impact to construction progress.
