BRG Sports (formerly Easton-Bell Sports, Inc.) conducted a highly confidential and comprehensive optimization analysis of their entire logistics distribution and fulfillment system. This required a complete reverse analytical evaluation of what the optimal real estate locations, available product system technologies, and facilities capabilities were with respect to both product volumes and customer order velocities and how those could result in lower product costs and increased profitability. Peak participated as a BRG elite Alliance Evaluation Team member providing expertise on numerous critical constraints including: real estate location; transportation and labor limitations; design and zoning differences; municipal incentive opportunities; construction cost variances and magnitudes; operating expenses; timing and schedule evaluations; and access and public utility constraints which were all incorporated into the final operating comparison model and final system change recommendations.
Peak and the Alliance Evaluation Team participated for over 18 months gathering critical solution option specific criteria corresponding to numerous iterative alternatives and fine tuning a comprehensive operating system evaluation model for BRG Board approval. Various real estate operating and fulfillment alternatives were evaluated with respect to BRG product cost reductions and implication quantification linked to risks, additional potential BRG profitability and degrees of BRG company difficulty of implementation for the respective options. Following the Board’s approval of the Team’s recommendations, Peak was engaged to coordinate all project details corresponding to the approved option changes for: real estate municipality incentives and permitting; design coordination and optimization; subcontractor qualification and selection; construction cost control and management; project schedule implementation and progress adjustments; product and system quality control criteria establishment and performance measuring; and interface with BRG third party vendors. The BRG project solution was completed in less than 14 months and exceeded every original project cost, timing, and quality project goal.
