Chris Watkins joined Peak in 2016 as Accounting Manager and was promoted to Controller in 2019. Chris is responsible for monthly financial and tax reporting at Peak. He oversees project accounting, insurance compliance and provides ad hoc support and analysis to operations. Additionally, he manages various special projects.
Chris excels at problem-solving and has a devotion to continuous improvement. His ability to analyze problems from multiple viewpoints allows him to find creative and optimal solutions for any situation. Chris utilizes these traits to drive process improvement and develop internal controls. He also possesses strong communication skills which compliment his enthusiasm for internal customer service. This has distinguished him as the primary liaison between accounting and operations.
Chris has held a wide variety of roles within the construction industry giving him a unique breadth of knowledge. Chris has held positions in contract administration, project accounting, financial accounting and management level accounting. He has held these positions within multiple sections of the construction industry, from a major national subcontractor to a smaller general contractor/developer. This has given Chris experience with contracts, insurance and numerous levels of accounting from the perspective of subcontractors, general contractors and owner/developers.
